Cheers to a new chapter
A child's imagination is but an extension to their journeys into adulthood. The importance of literacy has been lovingly enforced by my mother at an early age to both myself and my younger sister, Showaye. I can still remember in vivid detail reading Shel Silverstein's "The Giving Tree" as a three year old kid. The bright green cover, the simple yet detailed black & white line drawings of the interior, even the heartfelt story that was illustrated in such a way that my young mind could understand it's message. To this day the effect that book had on me still exists. I'm hoping to have a similar effect on young readers with my first entry into the literary field entitled "Omi & Elli Go To The Park".
To us adults, a trip to the park could mean a break for both parent and child. But, to a kid, from the moment of announcing the trip, until arrival can mean so much. Swelling of excitement and anticipation in their hearts from putting on their jacket, to the first step onto the playground. That's the message the book tries it's best to convey to its reader.
At the end of each book, is the beginning of a new chapter of your imagination.
